Google Maps privacy statement

We use Google maps of the company Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) on our website. By using Google Maps we can display locations better in order to adapt our service to your needs. Due to the use of Google Maps, data will be transferred and stored on Google servers. Here we would like to give more detailed information about what Google Maps is, why we use this Google service and which data will be stored as well as how you can prevent this.

What is Google Maps?

Google Maps is an Internet map service of the company Google Inc. With Google Maps you can search online for the exact location of cities, places of interest, accommodation or companies using a computer, tablet or an app. If a company uses Google My Business, further information about the company in addition to the location will be shown. To display directions, map sections of a location can be integrated into a website by using an HTML code. Google Maps shows the surface of the earth as a street map or as an aerial view or satellite image. Thanks to the Street View images and the high-quality satellite images very accurate displays are possible.

Why are we using Google Maps on our website?

The aim of all of our efforts on this site is to offer you useful and meaningful time on our website. By using Google Maps we are able to give you the most important information about diverse locations. You can see at a glance where our head office is located. The directions always show you the best or fasted way to us. You can display the directions for routes by car, by public transport, on foot or by bicycle. For us it is a part of our customer service to provide Google Maps.

Which data will be stored by Google Maps?

So that Google Maps can offer its service thoroughly, the company has to collect and store some of your data. These include, amongst others, the entered search terms, your IP address as well as the latitude and longitude coordinates. Should you use the route planning function, your entered start address will be stored too. This data will, however, be stored on the websites of Google Maps. We can only inform you about this, but we cannot influence this. As we have integrated Google Maps on our website, Google sets at least one cookie (name: NID) in your browser. This cookie stores data about your user behaviour. Google uses this data primarily to optimise its own services and to provide individual, personalised advertising for you.
